And can it be that I should gain
An interest in the Savior’s blood?
Died He for me, who caused His pain—
For me, who Him to death pursued?
Amazing love! How can it be,
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
... - and can it be

in case you're wondering i didn't pen such moving words. it's dear mr charles wesley (or actually reverend).

isn't it amazing how we look back and see how wonderful God has been in our lives, and continues to be. and we wonder, 'how can it be?' because we're in sheer awe. but whilst we do look back and wonder, let us always remember it isn't about the blessings in our lives that we should say 'how can it be', because in the storm it isn't the recollection of past blessings that will enable us to plod on. it's about our faith in Christ, our rock, whom we know we can stand firm amidst the miry clay of despair, disappointment, grief, shock, and the multitude of things the world hits us with, or maybe whatever we hit ourselves with.

today's 122 anniversary, urghhhh my mum and sis forgot it was combined service. so in the end didn't end up going to the sanctuary cos in my opinion i though it'll be pointless if we couldn't sit in the main sanctuary. next year, next year i'll make it into the sanctuary. to be honest was quite sad because i really like traditional (esp for anniversary combined service) and was just standing at p&p and going 'grrrrrrrrr'. but i knew it wasn't what style of worship service that matters, it's about desiring to, despite (perhaps) a service you're not used to/ not looking forward to. and the best part was i recalled this article i just read a few hours before (yes i slept like in the wee hours of the morning again). the article was about worship style, and it was an overdue email, was just thinking to myself, 'wow how apt'. yes in case you're wondering i've got many emails that i've yet to read, quite a lot of commentaries and all. so that was the once in the the last week or two that i actually read my email commentaries again. pretty amazing huh.

i must be quite old at heart. i like traditional, whereas my mum and sis prefer prayer & praise. okay, better run off now! next week's cny, how fast!
