the phantom of the opera was...

great! the story just blew me away. the leit motif was darkness versus love and light. and today as i was shuffling my itunes player, the sermon 'turn my head with talk of summertime' came into play. (yes i do have some sermons stored in my ipod lest you're wondering) sometimes (quite often actually) i'll skip the sermon if it does get shuffled on (a bit long to listen during a car journey), but today i didn't. so that too aided the whole analysis of the musical as it unfolded before my eyes. to quote from what i remember from the sermon, 'he tried to capture love and christine and force it upon her...' and it wasn't just about the sermon, the story was simply thought-provoking. about how a lot of our battles are actually in the mind. and the reality is that when we are caught in something detrimental to ourselves, we find it so hard to break free from it.

i want to catch it again!

took off crocs cos sis says it's really ugly, and sadly the majority of the population shares her view methinks.

love this alpha and omega pendant from metropolitan museum of new york (but think that's way beyond anyone's budget),

then there's that massimo dutti shirt (129 i think) i love- blue stripes, white collar,

and i do want a leather belt- massimo, british india, are 2 brands i can think of, but essentially as long as it's of good quality i'm okay. and the sad bit is usually belts aren't exchangeable. :(

haven't tried on the havianas sandals. i need slippers, but it's quite odd receiving them i think. not superstitious at all, just a bit of a oddity ain't it for a gift. like here's a shoe/ slipper for you!
