come what may, God willing
be Thou my visionmy blog's titled 'be Thou my vision' but it still appears 'come what may, God willing' to me.
anyway if you are so able to see the heading as 'be Thou my vision', good for you. i think i did mention the reasoning behing 'come what may, God willing' before. if i haven't, and you're curious enough, then tag to say so or what. but anyways, 'be Thou my vision' is the title of a very well-known hymn. those who bought corrinne may's latest album 'the gift' you probably would have heard it, because it is in that album. the verses are from an irish poem, and it's really my favourite hymn of all time.
be Who my vision? the Thou is the crux of the title, and even from a secular view point we all need a goal, a focus in life, or the very least a purpose for living. and i think keeping our gazed fixed on that entity is crucial to keep ourselves from swaying too much. for those who know me it's obvious who's the Thou in my 'be Thou my vision'. so my question for today is, who is your Thou in your vision?
could it be that million dollar in the bank as your goal, and therefore financial pursuits would be your purpose in life. our goal, or our focus in life determines our purpose, and that in turn determines the way we live our lives. yes sometimes we deviate, and when we find that we do we then have to ask ourselves who is the Thou in our vision, or even what (if it isn't who to you). because life has its way of knocking us upside down, turning us inside out.
and too freqeuntly we don't pause enough to do a raincheck. we just move move and move some more. and the sad part is, sometimes we leave our true selves behind... and we wonder why everyone seemed to have changed, when we are probably the ones who have had that 360degree turn around.
was supposed to head down to sks today to grab a book (not enough $$ for the plural).
