wondering...

why is it for virtually everything, what goes up will come down, and when you hit rock-bottom there's no where else to go but up... but the question's why can't you keep digging down, or keep shooting up. why is there a threshold where once you hit that high/ low point the trend is reversed?

any answers? or hypothesis..
