and i thought it was gone...

referring the the post below. it's a pretty long post by my standards nowadays. i remember in the past, i'll be thinking at the back of my head as i typed my posts, 'is it too long, 'cos if it is people won't read the entire thing'. now my posts are really short, and it's the opposite now, i'm thinking of increasing length. anyway short can be good too, short and sweet... ;)

i also changed my heading of my blog to 'be Thou my vision'. one of my most favourite hymns. right now if you ask me the 2 best hymns for christian living it would be:

1) amazing grace
2) be Thou my vision

amazing grace because without God's love, without His grace... well, we would be nothing, no salvation, no life, no eternity, zilt, zero, nothing, period.

and knowing this absolute truth (i know you might have read in the papers recently that an ex-bishop purported that there's no absolute truth), but truly there is and the truth is in Christ - solus Christus. and how we live our lives, well the hymn be Thou my vision just tells it all.

that God should be our vision,
Lord of our hearts,
everything else doesn't matter in comparison to Him,
He's our best thought by day or by night,
at any moment His presence will be our light,

God is our source of wisdom,
He is our true word,
He is in us dwelling!
and we too are in Him,
(for He loves us, we were all hand-crafted even before we were in our mother's wombs)

Even if we're facing battles,
He's our shield and our sword.
God will fight our battles for us,
we need to believe He does care.

Riches we heed not,
nor man's empty praise.
for our true inheritance is in Christ alone!

and truly our High King of Heaven, where our treasure is there our heart will be also.

and it ends wonderfully, 'still be my vision, O ruler of all'.

Amen to that.
