finally caught memoirs of a geisha the day before yesterday. good show i must add, really gave new insight to the term geisha. some might think they are just high class prostitutes, but at that time, and with that sort of culture. i guess we can consider geishas to be not prostitutes, because what they practice is art more than anything else. just like the difference between pornography and art. we cannot use today's moral values and ethics to judge acts in the past. though for most cases, what is condemned yesterday, still is today.
okay, enough of all that. it's just a movie for goodness sake!
err, but i like to watch movies that make me think. not to say i don't like movies which are just plain funny. but i really really enjoy and remember the movies that deeply provoke.
that's why i like gattaca so much. it's really my all-time fave movie. not to mention it has the oh-so-dashing jude law. gosh i just dig his accent! ethan hawke looks good as usual, definitely my kind of guy. ok, sidetracked like crap.
anyway i played tennis today! hooray!!
although i got my forehand motion right only at the last 20 to 30 minutes of play (out of 2plus hours), i was really glad. imagine hitting the side and your ball spins high high up into the air - to infinity and beyond, twice out of 3 shots. the feeling of seeing your ball just dashing and spinning down the other side of the court is just a wonderful feeling.
don't worry i'm not in love with my tennis balls.
so xf and xy, today was great! thanks! we should meet up every week to play, definitely.
i hope i didn't sprain my ankle again, think the next time i play i better wear an ankle guard.
finals later today, henin-hardenne against mauresmo. shall be up to watch! ;)
