in cheerful anticipationtomorrow is the 10th of august, and at night i'm going to watch a very talented singer perform, she's none other than corrinne may ying foo. yes she's singaporean, but (obviously) taken flight to pursue her dreams overseas. realistically speaking, i think it's near impossible to become any where near famous if a musician were just to stick around in singapore. i'm not putting down the country, like i said in my previous post i am indeed thankful of the many blessings that singapore currently enjoys. however one must admit singapore is sorely lacking in the arts scene, yes we have the durian (esplanade), and even if we have 10 durians it won't make a difference. we just don't have this arts culture in us, and most importantly we don't seem to be very enthusiastic about local talent. you do realise that our famous local talents become famous overseas before actually being recognised in their own country.
ahhh enough of that, deviated far from my intended topic. i really appreciate corrinne may's talent. her voice is wow, it just takes your breath away, and the best part (think i also mentioned this before) is she writes her own songs.
so today is national day, a happy national day to all out there. today also marks the end of the book which i was doing, 'day of power' or something like that. as you can probably guess i didn't follow through the whole book, in fact i stopped far short of the ending.
yes, terrible me.
i'm thinking of switching to mac, sounds quite daunting though my mac friend says it's very easy to get used to. any comments? the reason for this is because the ibook is just so chio, and honestly i'm quite sick of windows and the various spywares. you might say mac has viruses and all that crap too, but much less that i'm sure. i won't use my laptop for gaming, because i don't game at all, so an apple won't pose a problem in my entertaintment aspect.
tennis tomorrow! and also on thurs. i shall go check out the social night with my tennis kakis on thurs. still deciding whether to go for this training on mon. the girls are just too pro, and i'm utterly lousy in comparison.
