just finished watching 'beauty or beast'. i must say that show never fails to make me swoon over nanako matsushima. she's everything i'm not, beautiful, cool, classy and drop-dead gorgeous. well, you might disagree but isn't that what idols or role models are? someone that you desire to be like?
i bet nearly everyone envies or idolises someone(s) in their entire life. whether it is that teacher that taught you back in school or this senior of yours, there must be somebody you look up to and ultimately and maybe even sub-consciously want to be like. i mean, isn't that what draws you to that particular person? like you think this person is so good (notice the use of the word good as it is rather general) in your eyes over the others, but why? somehow when you think about it, you realise that the person is sort of the mirror image of you, of what you perceive yourself and what you want to be. heh, for me i've lots of idols, for the same gender alone i have, -counts- 5? one would be mrs lee, this teacher back in ij, she had this very cool physical demeanor, tan, tall, sporty and pretty looking. to top it off, she had great dress sense on top of her great figure. so i guess she's everything i wasn't?
so there goes, these people you look up too, they're all too perfect... or so it seems. but somehow, it is good to be aware that there are people who's better at you in certain areas. makes you work harder, e.g in sports. so i guess idolising people ain't that bad... just don't make let it become an obsession over a person.
