it's the eve of chinese new year. it's a day where shops in singapore close early, like 5pm and you could probably hear a pin drop in orchard road. well, reunion dinner today at my aunt's place, my dad's side. it's different because last year and the years before i went to my grandma's house (my mum's side) for reunion dinner. well, she's gone now, that's why i'm not going there this year. just a few hours to reunion dinner time and it is never what i expect. i'm pretty traditional, i like the raw fish thing with all the ingredients and actually 'lo hei' the thing, like just lift the ingredients up with your chopsticks and drop it. pretty cool..... well, well.... hong baos seem quite interesting but, then again, i don't know. perhaps cny has lost it's flavour to me, just a bit. but i'm chinese, and i am proud to celebrate it, it's my culture, so yea. anyway, i'm gonna bathe now, blog later.
